As the chair of the firm’s Tax practice area, Mr. Bybee has extensive experience with business and tax planning issues for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and hybrid entities.  He has counseled private and public companies on a wide variety of federal tax income issues in connection with mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, roll-ups, joint ventures, financings, leasing transactions, stock option plans and executive compensation issues.  He also has represented foreign corporations in connection with their conduct of business in United States and the acquisition of United States companies or businesses.

Mr. Bybee also has worked extensively with clients in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. In particular, he has experience with acquisitions and dispositions, joint development agreements, equity investments, and structured finance transactions.
